Pink Out: Belleville vs. Nutley hoop games to honor BHS grad stricken with breast cancer

The Belleville and Nutley high school boys' and girls' varsity basketball teams will face each other on Feb. 17 at Belleville High School as part of a "Pink Out" event in honor of BHS 2000 graduate Lindsay Giordano, who has been diagnosed with breast cancer.

The NHS vs. BHS girls' game will tip off at 6 p.m., and the boys' game will follow at 8 p.m.

The color pink is associated with breast cancer awareness.

Pink shirts also will be sold beginning Feb. 13. The shirts will have a logo that is specific to Giordano's cause. The cost is $10.

Players from both teams will wear pink socks, pink wrist bands and the pink shirts underneath their jerseys during the games.

To purchase a pink shirt, call BHS athletic director Tom D'Elia at 973-450-3500, extension 3466, beginning on Feb. 13.
