BHS wrestler Anello wins District title
Joe Anello captured the 152-pound weight class to lead the Belleville High School varsity wrestling team at the District 14 tournament in Livingston on Feb. 20.
Oscar Cabrera, Justin Colon, Nick Fruncillo and Chase Hamilton also finished third in their weight classes for the Bucs, who placed fifth overall among the nine scoring teams. Bloomfield won the team title. Livingston was second; Montclair was third and Nutley fourth.
The top three finishers in each weight class advanced to the Region 4 tournament that began Feb. 23 and will continue Feb. 26 and 27 at West Orange High School.
