The Belleville High School Indoor Track team gave strong performances at the Ridgewood Winter Games 2 on Tuesday January 17, 2012 at Rockland Community College Field House in Suffern New York
Arnelle Ackon wons the Varsity 55 Meter Dash and the Varsity 300 Yard Dash. Ackon won the 55 Meter dash with a time of 7.6 and Arnelle won the 300 yard dash with a time of 38.7. Her time of 38.7 tied the school record with Sherece Shabazz who ran a 38.7 during the 2008/2009 Indoor track season.
Kristy Bono set a new school record in the 1000 yard run and finished in 6th place with a time of 3:00.1. The previous record was 3:06.2 set by Joanne Campione during the 2004/2005 season.
The boys 4 by 800 team finished in third place with a time of 8:50.9. Their time set a new Belleville school record. The old school record of 8:54.2 was set last year by Steve Sanabria, Bryon Cure, Jeffrey Chacon and Terrance Boyce.
Freshman Estefany Tello finished in third place in the 600 yard run and set a new Belleville school with a time of 1:41.7. The old record was 1:42.1 set by Crissabel Victoria during the 2008/2009 season.
In the Varsity girls 3200 Meters Kristy Bono won a fifth place medal with a time of 12:05.8. Her twin sister Jamie ran 12:30.
In the Varsity girls 4 by 800 Relay the Belleville girls won fifth place medals. The girls team consisted of Jamie Bono, Tatiana Gomez, Analee Delgado and Jada Clark.
In the 600 yard run freshman Gracielle Luna won a fifth place medal with a time of 1:47.4
In the Shot Put senior Armando Ramos won a fourth place medal with a time of 37 feet 1 inch.
Freshman PJ Gencarelli had a big day in the freshman races, winning three medals. PJ took first place in the 300 yard run with a time 38.5 and fifth place in the 600 yard run with a time of 1:33. PJ finished off his outstanding night with a first place finish in the boys long jump with a jump of 16 feet 6 inches.
