BHS boys' hoop team is No. 25 in the ECT

The Belleville High School boys’ varsity basketball team received the No. 25 seed in the Essex County Tournament and will visit No. 20 seed Verona in the first preliminary round on or by this Saturday Jan. 28. The winner will face the winner between No. 13 Livingston and No. 32 Barringer in the second preliminary round on or  by Feb. 2.
The Bucs defeated Glen Ridge and lost to West Essex. The Bucs’ record moved to 7-5.
Julian Rodriguez posted 21 points, 11 rebounds, four assists and three blocks and Tommy Rosario added 17 points, nine rebounds and five assists to lead the Bucs to a 63-54 win over Glen Ridge on Jan. 19 in Glen Ridge. Dominique Issac had 13 points and Keith Everett had 10 points for the Bucs.
Rosario had 18 points and Rodriguez and Issac each had 10 points in the 59-51 loss to West Essex this past Tuesday Jan. 24 in North Caldwell. West Essex led 23-21 at halftime and outscored Belleville, 18-7, in the third quarter.
