The Bloomfield Babe Ruth League is a nationally-chartered organization offering quality baseball for youth between the ages of 13-18 for Belleville residents. There are two divisions: Junior Division for 13-14-year-olds and Senior Division for 15-18-year-olds.

Belleville High School varsity wrestler Justin Colon had a good run at the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association tournament at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.
Colon, a 112-pound sophomore, won in the preliminary round before losing in the pre-quarterfinals on March 5.
Colon returned the next day and remained alive with a victory in the wrestlebacks first round, but was then eliminated in the wrestlebacks second round.

Belleville High School wrestler Justin Colon qualified for the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association tournament for the second straight season.
Colon, a sophomore, finished third in the 112-pound weight class at the Region 4 tournament at West Orange High School on Feb. 27 to qualify for the State tournament, which will be held March 5-7 at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.

The Belleville High School boys’ and girls’ indoor varsity track and field teams enjoyed fine seasons.
Sherece Shabazz and Vanessa Ackon sparked the girls’ team, which finished third overall at the Essex County Relay Championships and won its first track trophy in school history. The girls’ team also finished in fifth place at the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association North Jersey, Section 2, Group 3 Championships.
Bryon Cure sparked the boys’ team.
